Is multiboxing allowed in OSRS?
Playing several accounts at once is allowed. Using software to control them is a different matter. Here's what Jagex's rules say, in their own words, and where OSRS Multibox stands.
The short answer: multi-logging, being logged in to several of your own accounts at once, is allowed. Third-party clients other than RuneLite and HDOS are not, and that includes OSRS Multibox. Jagex can ban accounts that use one, temporarily or permanently.
What Jagex allows
Having more than one account, and playing them at the same time:
“You are free to create as many accounts as you like, and you are welcome to trade between your accounts just as you would with any other player - you can log into two accounts at the same time to do this if you wish.”
Jagex, Rules of RuneScape
So opening a few clients and playing each one yourself, switching between windows, is within the rules. Each account should be played only by you; Jagex doesn't allow sharing or selling accounts.
What isn't allowed
Unapproved third-party clients
Jagex approves two third-party clients, RuneLite and HDOS, and nothing else:
“The use of any other third-party client may result in permanent action being taken against your account.”
Jagex, Third-Party Client Guidelines
Software that plays for you
The rules on macroing cover any software that does “things for you that you should be doing yourself”, and list software that:
“Performs things in-game for you that you're meant to be doing yourself.”

Accounts working together for an advantage
“Multi-logged accounts must not interact with each other to gain an unfair advantage in game play, such as ‘rigging’ the result of a minigame. For example, it is against the rules to have a number of accounts in a minigame all controlled by the same person, in order to try and guarantee the minigame outcome.”
Jagex, Rules of RuneScape
One ban can reach every account
“If any of your accounts obtained items or wealth through rule breaking activity, for example macro use or real-world trading, then all your accounts may be banned.”

Where OSRS Multibox stands
OSRS Multibox is built on RuneLite, but it isn't RuneLite: it's a separate client that copies the master's actions to your other accounts, and it isn't on Jagex's approved list. Using it breaks Jagex's rules, and Jagex can ban accounts that use it.
We've run OSRS Multibox since 2019, but we can't promise any account is safe and can't protect accounts from enforcement. If an account is banned, that's not something we can undo or refund; see our terms.
Before you start
- Use accounts you can afford to lose, never your main.
- Keep your main apart. Moving wealth from multiboxed accounts to your main puts your main at risk too: Jagex can ban every account that gained from rule breaking.
- If you're not comfortable with the risk, don't. Multi-logging by hand in RuneLite is allowed; the guide covers how.
